Iranian documentary ‘Asho’ is to go on screen at the 22nd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in Greece.

Directed by Jafar Najafi, the documentary ‘Asho’ has been selected to compete at the 22nd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival (TDF) in Greece.

The 30-minute doc narrates the story of a boy who herds a flock of sheep. The boy’s biggest dream is to become a Hollywood star. Asho is under the influence of the Hollywood films that his cousin brought him.

‘Asho’ has participated at several festivals and received many awards including a special mention at the 62nd edition of the International Leipzig Festival and the Best Film Award of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

TDF celebrates the art of documentary by organizing programs and events to showcase the films of this genre.

The event has three competition sections including the International Competition, the Newcomers Competition and Virtual Reality Competition Section.

The 22nd edition of the fest is slated for March 5-15, 2020.
